SDA Solutions, which supplies web-based club management and booking solutions, has become the world's first leisure industry supplier to be awarded Microsoft's .NET Connected Certification for ClubCentric.NET, the company's member management software.
.NET is a set of software technologies for connecting information, people, systems, and devices through the use of web services, an arrangement which SDA believes can help club operators reduce costs, increase efficiency and see more of their members.
Solutions that gain .NET Connected Certification have been independently tested and are designed for the next generation of Internet-enabled computing.
Elsewhere, the company has announced the launch of BookingPortal.NET, a new web-based booking system which allows club members, customers and the general public to book activities, classes and courses online.
It also allows members to view waiting lists, childcare availability and booking history.
The system can operate as a stand-alone application but has been designed to integrate with other systems in real-time. One such is SDA's ClubCentric.NET product, where - when a booking is made on-line - information is updated at the front desk so that staff can be alerted to take payments and provide any equipment or guidance required for the booking to take place.
One site already committed to BookingPortal is London's Central YMCA, which has over 4,000 members and 110 exercise classes each week. Along with typical health club activities, the club has a large swimming pool, multi-activity sports hall and an extensive range of personal development classes.
